Sunday knockout
Two games decided in the last minutes, two goals scored in each of them, and a long Saturday that ended with the boys still fighting for a result. Sunday against Burlingame MLS Next was a step up and it showed on the scoreboard. Proud of the effort, the togetherness between games and the way the group handled a full weekend of football. Vamos, boys.

How the tournament works
- Seven teams in Male U13 Green, split into three brackets: A has three teams, B and C have two each. We are in Bracket C with Central California Soccer Alliance.
- Because the brackets are uneven, Saturday's seven games cross brackets — that is why our two games are against Ajax United (Bracket B) and Burlingame 2013/14B Premier (Bracket B), while the Bracket C table lists us alongside CCSA.
- After Saturday every team is re-seeded across the whole division as Wildcard #1 through #7 using bracket points and the tiebreakers below.
- Sunday is knockout day: Wildcards #1–#4 play the semi-finals and then the Final, while #5–#7 play the consolation games. Our Sunday opponent, kickoff time and field all depend on Saturday's results.

Tournament rules that affect us
Schedule & check-inShow
- U13–U19 games are 30-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time. Semi-finals and the championship are the same length as group games.
- Players check in for player-pass and equipment check at the tournament check-in tents on the north side of Field 2 (near the scoreboard) before every game.
- Be checked in no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled kickoff — the referee starts the game on time.
- A team not on the field with the minimum number of players 10 minutes after official kickoff forfeits 3-0; the opponent gets the win and 3 points.
- The tournament director can shorten game times if the schedule runs late, and can amend brackets if a team pulls out or no-shows.
On the fieldShow
- The home team is listed first, provides three game balls, and changes jersey colors if there is a kit clash.
- Unlimited substitutions at any dead ball with the referee's consent — subs wait at midfield for the referee's signal.
- No jewelry, hair clips or bobby pins. Players in orthopedic casts, air-splints or metal splints cannot play.
- Both benches are on the same side of the field; spectators sit on the opposite side, and coaching happens from your own bench area only.
- Match-day roster for 11v11 is 18 players (max roster 26), with up to 3 guest players from the same association and card type.
Cards & disciplineShow
- Two yellow cards in one game counts as a red card.
- A red card (or two yellows) means the player is sent off, cannot be replaced in that game, and misses the next game at a minimum.
- A coach ejected from a game also misses the next game at a minimum; a coach can be carded for the behavior of spectators or friends of the team.
- The tournament committee can increase penalties for violent play or serious misconduct, and a game terminated for misconduct can mean forfeiting all remaining games.
- This is tournament discipline only — it is separate from ECNL RL league discipline, which is covered on /rules.
- All game results are final and no protests are allowed.
Points & awardsShow
- 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss. A forfeit is scored 3-0 to the team that showed up.
- If neither team shows, no points are awarded. Official standings are kept online on GotSport.
- A team trophy and medals go to 1st place; medals go to 2nd place.
- If a final is tied after regulation, it goes straight to kicks from the mark under FIFA rules.
Parking & spectatorsShow
- Parking is $5 per day, per car, paid at the park.
- No RV parking without approval from the City of Modesto.
- No dogs or pets anywhere on the park facilities — anyone bringing one is asked to stay in the parking lot or leave.
- No alcohol, no tobacco and no BBQ at any field location. Tents and easy-ups must be secured.
- Good sportsmanship is expected on and off the field; report any behavior concerns to the field marshals.
Summarised from the Ajax United tournament rules and procedures. The tournament director can update the official rules at any time — the posted rules on the event site always win. League discipline is separate and is summarised on /rules.
